The frequently asked questions (FAQ) page has been made by Sony, which directly answer some questions about the availability of features that have been discussed about the PlayStation 4 game console that has been owned by the PlayStation 3. At its launching the PlayStation 4 cannot use external storage media, cannot play the CD tracks, cannot read MP3 format, and may not be used as a streaming media receiver, because Sony DLNA protocol is not supported on this device.
Writer at Kotaku, Luke Plunkett stated that he did not understand the removal of features which have been installed on its predecessor. Looks like Sony requires PlayStation 4 users to use online stores, music streaming and dedicated movies services by their own. Obviously user must spend more budgets to be able to enjoy the services. PlayStation 3 supports DLNA connectivity, and even can play streaming movies on either of the devices based on Windows or OS X with certain software supported.
Head of Sony PlayStation, Shuehui Yoshida responded to the complaints about the MP3 format support and DLNA connectivity via twitter today, by giving an answer that he would discuss the issue with the PlayStation 4 development team for next development.
